If we value the rule of law, we must not take our judges for granted, a QC has warned. Writing in this week’s NLJ, Khawar Qureshi QC says the judiciary has been subjected to criticism from politicians and the media since the role of head of the judiciary was removed from the Lord Chancellor in 2005. Judges are, of course, prevented from answering back.
Qureshi says protecting our judges from attack is vital in an era of electronic media and Twitter.
