The Supreme Court, in allowing an appeal by an Austrian wine-making company (APL), held that APL’s notice to another company (D&D), which had distributed wine as APL’s agent in the UK, had been immediately effective to terminate D&D’s authority to collect on outstanding invoices. It was declared that the proceeds of the invoices were payable to the company.
