The International Bar Association (IBA) surveyed its 80,000 members this week on whether they have experienced bullying or harassment in the workplace. It is asking its members what impact the experience, if any, had on them; what position within the firm or chambers the perpetrator had; and what workplace policies and procedures are in place to tackle such conduct. Respondents will be kept anonymous. The results will be revealed at the IBA’s annual conference in Rome in October. The survey follows research last year that revealed one in two female lawyers had been bullied and one in three sexually harassed.
