Firm welcomes legal director to its healthcare sector

HCR Law has appointed Caroline Barker as legal director in its healthcare sector. She will be based in London and support healthcare providers nationwide.

Following a 16-year career practicing law, which culminated in her role as chief operating officer at Ridouts Solicitors, Caroline has joined HCR’s healthcare sector, specialising in healthcare regulatory services.

This move follows the merger earlier this year, where Ridouts joined HCR Law.

Throughout her career, Caroline has specialised in regulatory matters within the health and social care environment. She has represented various providers in adult social care and children’s services, including handling serious case reviews in children’s homes and residential special schools.

She completed an executive MBA from Bayes Business School (formerly known as Cass Business School), which led to a secondment within the business operations of Ridouts. Her return to practicing law comes as health and social care providers continue to navigate complex regulatory challenges.

Rebecca Leask, head of healthcare at HCR Law, said: ‘With HCR’s full-service healthcare offering, clients are seeking our regulatory team’s practical solutions for navigating incredibly difficult paths. We are delighted that Caroline has decided to join us as a fee earner in the healthcare sector. Her experience across the sector is invaluable, and clients welcome her involvement.’

Caroline added: ‘The merger with HCR Law has provided a unique opportunity to join a full-service healthcare offering, working across the entire sector with various providers. HCR’s entrepreneurial ethos and growth mind-set sits well with my own values. I am excited to roll up my sleeves, dedicate my time to supporting clients, and tirelessly work to deliver the best possible outcomes for them.’
