Professional negligence specialist joins the partnership

North East firm Gordon Brown Law Firm LLP (GBLF) has announced the promotion of associate solicitor Guy Barr to partner.

Having joined the firm in October 2017, Guy will now step up to a partnership role, bringing the total number of GBLF partners to six. He works within the dispute resolution team, and focuses on professional negligence matters.

Guy said: ‘I’ve had a fascinating journey at GBLF so far and I’m absolutely thrilled to have been promoted to partner. Throughout the time I have been at GBLF, I have been given both the support and freedom to develop my practice and I’m looking forward to continuing building on that.’

Kathryn Taylor, managing partner at GBLF, added: ‘We originally brought Guy on board to enhance our dispute resolution offering and he’s been a great addition to our team, acting in numerous cases involving commercial and private litigation, contentious probate, claims against shareholders and directors, breaches of contract, insolvency and insurance disputes.

‘Guy’s extensive knowledge and practice experience has enabled our services to grow and we’re so pleased to promote him to partner, which will allow him to continue developing his career with us. We take staff progression seriously here at GBLF and as our firm continues to grow, we intend to give both our staff and clients the opportunity to grow along with us.’
