Barristers across England and Wales are to benefit from a guide designed to highlight the work of the six Bar Circuits.

The guide, published as part of a wider communications campaign to modernise the image of the profession, contains dedicated sections on each of the circuits focusing on aspects unique to each area.

The Bar Council says the guides will help inform those considering a career at the Bar and demonstrate the backgrounds of those currently practising.

Bar Council chairman Timothy Dutton QC says he hopes the guide will provide the public and potential candidates with a better understanding of the profession.
