Giving back with AlphaBiolabs’ charity draw: November 2024

Carers Trust Solihull receives £500 donation from AlphaBiolabs Giving Back campaign

Leading drug, alcohol and DNA testing laboratory, AlphaBiolabs, has made a £500 donation to Carers Trust Solihull as part of its Giving Back campaign.

For every testing instruction AlphaBiolabs receives from family law and social work professionals, the company enters the name of the customer into a bimonthly draw to ‘win’ a £500 donation for their preferred charity.

Jade Sweeney, Senior Social Worker at Solihull Children’s Service, was randomly selected in the company’s latest draw and nominated Carers Trust Solihull – a charity that supports unpaid carers of all ages across Solihull – to receive the £500 donation.

Established in 2002, Carers Trust Solihull is an independent charity that works to promote the emotional and physical wellbeing of unpaid carers of all ages, preventing crisis, and keeping families together.

Jade said: “We’re delighted to be able to nominate such a worthy cause. Carers Trust Solihull provides much-needed support for children, young people and families in the area who have caring responsibilities, providing respite activities, as well as emotional and practical support for carers and their loved ones.”

Gina Ward, Young Carers Team Manager at Carers Trust Solihull, said: “We’d like to thank Jade at Solihull Children’s Service and AlphaBiolabs for this kind donation. As an independent charity, donations like these mean we can continue to provide quality support, meeting the needs of young carers from a variety of backgrounds throughout Solihull.”

Rachel Davenport, Director at AlphaBiolabs, said: “As a testing laboratory working with local authorities across the UK, we have seen first-hand the challenges facing vulnerable children, young people and families, including those who provide unpaid care for friends or loved ones. We’re proud to support the vital work of Carers Trust Solihull with this latest Giving Back donation.”

The next charity draw will take place at the end of December.
