The Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx), which represents 12,500 paralegals, is launching an inquiry in the autumn into the future of the legal workforce, asking how paralegals can meet market needs. It will inquire into the future market for both regulated and unregulated legal services delivery from 2020. CILEx President Stephen Gowland says: “We hope this inquiry will make legal businesses aware of the ethical, regulatory, consumer and market issues of utilising paralegal talent, the skills and progression opportunities they will need, and ultimately inform business choices in the use of paralegals for the future.”
