The divorce rate has fallen more than 5% to 9.3 divorces per 1,000 men and women. The number of divorces has also dropped by 3.1% to 111,169 divorces in England and Wales, Office of National Statistics figures for 2014 show. About 60% of divorces cite either adultery or unreasonable behaviour. Family lawyers group Resolution renewed its calls for no-fault divorce this week. National Chair Nigel Shepherd said: “We know that nearly two-thirds will have apportioned blame—whether they wanted to or not.”
