The government is to set up a single public financial guidance body to deliver debt advice, money and pensions guidance to the public. The plan was announced this week by the economic secretary and the minister of pensions, who will now draw up a consultation paper. Welcoming the news, Gillian Guy, chief executive of Citizens Advice, said: “It is important that there is a holistic approach to guidance and debt advice. We’ll continue to work closely with government as these plans are developed.”
