HSBC agrees to change its approach to conveyancing
HSBC and the Law Society have ended their dispute over the bank’s conveyancing panel, opening up the work to hundreds more firms.
Earlier this year, HSBC announced it would restrict work to a panel of 39 law firms and four licensed conveyancing companies. However, it has now agreed to change its approach, and will allow all solicitors accredited with the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) mark to take on work.
More than 1,400 law firms have CQS. The Law Society had argued HSBC’s panel restricted consumer choice.
