Bar Standards Board extends date for new standard terms

New standard contractual terms between instructing solicitors and barristers, originally scheduled to take effect on 31 October, have been delayed to 31 January 2013.

The Bar Standards Board agreed to extend the date to enable instructing solicitors, barristers’ chambers, their practice managers and software providers to adjust, following feedback from affected parties. The new terms will modernise the system of referral of work to barristers.
