Once the court had permitted service out of the jurisdiction, it was a matter for the defendant to consider the question whether to contest jurisdiction or not. The answer to that question might be affected by factors that differed from those applicable to the question whether or not to make the instant applications. A defendant might decide that it was in its interests to have a decision of the court, made with jurisdiction, striking out the claim or granting reverse summary judgment.
