Denton Wilde Sapte has signed an exclusive deal to send all of its future trainees to the College of Law.

The agreement, which starts in September, covers both the Graduate Diploma in law (GDL) and the Legal Practice Course (LPC). Trainees will be able to attend any of the five College of Law centres in Birmingham, Chester, Guildford, London, Manchester or York. At LPC level the firm’s trainees will follow the College’s corporate study route, which is designed for corporate lawyers.

Jeremy Cape, trainee partner at Denton Wilde Sapte, says: “The College’s high standards of training are an essential foundation for a successful career in the law.”

In September, the College will add a new Introduction to Professional Practice module to its LPC programme, which focuses on professional conduct and developing financial and commercial awareness.

Imogen Burton, director of business development with the College, says the agreement would help Denton Wilde Sapte “ensure consistency and common quality standards in the development of its trainees”.

Clifford Chance, Linklaters, Pinsent Masons and Allen and Overy have similar exclusive deals with the College for their trainees.
