Senior partner re-elected for third term

Simmons & Simmons has announced that Colin Passmore has been re-elected as the firm’s senior partner.

He will commence his third term on 1 August 2017, for a period of four years.

Colin joined the firm in 1986, became a partner in 1990 and senior partner in 2011. His practice focuses on litigation for financial institutions, professional services firms and insurance entities. Colin worked in the firm’s Hong Kong office from 1986 to 1991, and in Abu Dhabi in the early 1990s.

Colin said: “Over the past six years, a great deal has changed for professional services, but it’s clear that more change is still to come. The current market offers many challenges and many rewards and I welcome the opportunity to continue my work alongside Jeremy Hoyland and the firm’s Board as we build on our strengths to meet our clients’ needs.”

Jeremy Hoyland, managing partner at Simmons & Simmons, added: “This is a strong endorsement of the leadership Colin has shown as the firm’s senior partner since 2011.  I look forward to continuing to work with him to achieve the firm’s ambitious plans.”
