Lord Chancellor Alex Chalk said Taylor’s ‘extensive experience in criminal law will be invaluable to the Board’.
The CLAAB, which launched last year, was created on the recommendation of Lord Bellamy’s Criminal Legal Aid Independent Review.
Taylor is a former senior circuit judge, resident judge at Southwark Crown Court and recorder of Westminster. Since March, she has chaired the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) which deals with doctors’ fitness to practise.
