Pregnant women throughout England and Wales have received an added bonus after their terms and conditions of employment were extended throughout the full 52 week maternity leave period. The changes, which came into force on 5 October, mean that pregnant women will continue to benefit from all terms and conditions, other than remuneration, of their contract of employment, a move which could prove costly for employers.
