Bones on board at Bar Standards Board

Former chair of CILEX Professor Christopher Bones has been appointed chair of the Bar Standards Board, replacing Kathryn Stone

Bones chaired CILEX between 2018 and 2024, was Dean of Henley Business School between 2005 and 2010, and is a former executive at Diageo and other drinks industry companies. He currently chairs the Board of Trustees of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and is a commissioner at the Judicial Appointments Commission, among other posts.

Barbara Mills KC, chair of the Bar Council, said: ‘We look forward to engaging with him on the challenges facing the profession.’
