Applications opened this week for an online education programme to support lawyers from underrepresented groups in becoming judges. The Pre-Application Judicial Education (PAJE) programme will help lawyers develop their understanding of the role and skills required of a judge, before they apply. It will provide advice on next steps for applicants and cover topics pertinent to being a judge, including judgecraft, ethics and resilience. PAJE is the first joint initiative from the Judicial Diversity Forum. Applications close on 10 June. To apply, search for ‘PAJE’ on www.judiciary.uk and follow the links. For queries, contact paje@judiciary.uk.
