Criminal barristers have entered their third week of strike action, downing tools from Monday to Thursday, and enduring uncomfortable temperatures to protest outside Birmingham, Preston and Plymouth Crown Courts and the Supreme Court in London
The Criminal Bar Association chair Jo Sidhu QC and other executive members vowed to maintain pressure on government to negotiate a fair settlement, with two weeks left before Parliament rises for the summer recess. They were due to meet officials this week at the Ministry of Justice, where Dominic Raab has continued as Lord Chancellor, despite the change of ministerial team including the legal aid minister.
