Attorney General Cox takes over

Geoffrey Cox QC MP has been appointed Attorney General, taking over from Jeremy Wright QC MP. Wright is now Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. Cox, MP for Torridge and West Devon, co-founded Thomas More Chambers and is a member of the Criminal Bar Association. He will cease private practice as a barrister. In his new role he will advise the government and attend Cabinet. Cox said: ‘I look forward to working with the Solicitor General to play my part in making law and politics work together at the heart of the UK constitution.’
