In brief
A missing Leonardo Da Vinci painting has turned up in the Glasgow offices of solicitors’ firm HBJ Gateley Wareing. Insolvency lawyer Calum Jones, a partner at the firm, appeared in court last week over the theft of the Da Vinci masterpiece Madonna of the Yarnwinder—which has been valued at over £25m—from Drumlanrig Castle, home to the Duke of Buccleuch, in August 2003. Jones appeared on petition at Dumfries Sheriff Court in private along with three other men, all charged with conspiracy to rob and extort money. All four have been granted bail with special conditions.
